Christmas wreath folded cards

Each year I pickup my paints, lino blades or potatoes and create a new Christmas card design to give to friends and family.

This year I revived a previous folded design I created in Christmas 2009 (take a look here), a circular design that stands when folded up into quarters.

This year's is a watercolour painted wreath of oranges, eucalyptus leaves, berries and fir.

2013 - Lino printed partridge in a pear tree
2012 - Potato Printed Robin

2011 - Watercolour squirrels, robins scene
2010 - Lino cut Robin prints
2009 - Repeat watercolour Christmas pattern for cards, advent calendar and tags
2008 - Re-interpreted Victorian Christmas Cards - Handpainted

News! Website launch and blog

"Hello new website"
www.JaneFaram.com will house the majority of my writing (and a little artwork). It's my new,  neat online archive.
Faramaufait.blogspot.com (you are here), will be more explorative of broader ideas and specific experiences, from encounters with art to things I trip over on and offline - only (mostly) the good things. My blog Faramaufait will tell the less polished back story.

To be 'Au fait' means to be kept abreast of the latest developments, so as I keep abreast - please keep an eye.

Also you can find me on Our Favourite Places and Dig Yorkshire

Plating something up for Archipelago Works screen print show!

A brand new piece for the upcoming exhibition at Archipelago Works (APG), Sheffield. After producing my first screen print on a t-shirt this summer this is another first for me to have work as a limited edition screen print. The show is 3 C's Creatures, Characters and Communication - 3 Cs in Graphic art - A Group Exhibition of Original Screen Prints.

The idea for the work stemmed from the appeal of displays in the home, an extension of personality through arrangements like this, visual enjoyment over practicality, eclectic design paired with mismatched characters. Some of these characters have a tendency to reappear in my work such as the caravan and flamingo - absolutely personal and ridiculous favourites which I cannot always justify. I would now like to make these plates happen. Especially caravan plate to match my caravan t-shirt.

3 C's group exhibition opening this Friday 23 September at APG! Preview evening 6 - 9pm, all welcome! Also see work by:
